I participated in the Sketchbook Project this past year. Here’s what happened: I signed up (along with almost 29,000 artists from 94 countries) and received a blank Moleskine in the mail. I opted to be randomly assigned a theme. It turned out to be “dirigibles and submersibles.” I decided to pick up trash/treasures from the ground and stick ’em in. (Ok, I had much more ambitious plans in the beginning, but…life happened and my submarine and hot air balloon rides didn’t work out.)
When the deadline arrived, all the sketchbooks were returned to the organizers for a national tour. They’re at the Brooklyn Art Library this weekend, and then they move on to Portland. Tour dates and info here.
