More here.
Spotted on NBC Washington and on the TED blog: some of my photos from an 826DC event!

What’s this all about?
In fall 2008, a bunch of volunteers started working in earnest to bring a chapter of 826National to DC. Two years later, this labor of love was leading writing workshops and offering drop-in tutoring in DC Public Schools, local libraries, and bookshops. But we didn’t have a home of our own.
In October 2010, thanks to the support of the community and many generous donors, we opened a real-live writing center – and to help fund its work, a quirky storefront called the Museum of Unnatural History. I took these photos at the donor sneak peek, a couple of weeks before the Museum and writing center officially opened for business.
My friend Hannah and I are playing with our food this year.
